Innocence & Intuition
“Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen. Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor’s cup full, and then kept on pouring. The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. ‘It is overfull. No more will go in!’ ‘Like this cup,’ Nan-in said, ‘you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?”

Continuing on from learning the essentials skills of Receiving, Resting and Just Being, Unveil Programs continue the journey of empowerment of the Feminine for women with looking at receiving our moments, one moment at a time, with brand new eyes. Seeing something as if for the first time, without thinking you know how to make sense of it, is called Innocence (in-no-sense) and is in the Feminine, while sense and what we think we know and understand are in the Masculine.
Younger children are masters of innocence. They are more in their hearts (Feminine) and are not interested in sense much. “Stop that non-sense” is said to many children when they are engaged in pure innocent child’s play that we as adults do not understand. What they are doing might mean a lot to them in that moment, like some animal noise they are making for no apparent reason. In a young child’s world, sense, logic and reason take a back seat allowing for imagination and intuition to breathe.
Somewhere down the line, we can lose our connection to this and get stuck in a one-sided, mentally driven view of life. In our masculine oriented western world, if it doesn’t make sense it is not respected and not viable. It is “airy fairy”. It can even be made fun of and denigrated. The Mind (Masculine) has a very important job – it tries to make sense of the world around us. Older children’s minds are very busy doing this, hence their incessant questions.
However, the Heart (Feminine) beats to a different rhythm. To shut down innocence robs us of our moments, and of receiving pure information in the form of intuition. Innocence is pretending you do not know anything about something. We will use this tool to get us back in touch with our authentic Feminine selves. If you are to fill your cup with lasting pleasures, you need to get back in touch with the real you. Many of us have travelled so far away from our Hearts that we don’t even know what we truly desire anymore. Many women are so busy looking after everyone else, doing many things at once and juggling many balls all at the same time. This can go on for so long that they forget what stirs them deep inside.
Awakening our innocence and intuition will help us get in touch with that non-sensical feeling space – the Heart. Unveil Programs help women reconnect with their innate intuition, and give them back that feeling and fresh perspective of innocence – a great gift brining ease, grace and joy back to women’s day to day life.
